Welcome to Chilmark and Fonthill Bishop Aided Primary School!
There are many different reasons for visiting a school website and I hope you find the information you are searching for. If you are considering sending your child or children to our school please do make an appointment to visit the school and I will give you a personal tour.
We are fortunate to have a healthy number of children on roll which does mean we are now FULL in all year groups. We do operate a waiting list system so it is still worth coming to have a look even if a place is not currently available! If you would like a reception place for September 2010 please get in touch. The deadline for applications is 20th November 2009.
This is a traditional village primary school and we teach traditional values but offer a 21st century learning experience! This is a Church school but we welcome people of all faiths or no faith at all. However, the school's Christian ethos underpins all that we do and as a result pupils' spiritual, moral and social development is excellent.We aim to create a warm family atmosphere where every child is cared for and feels that they are known and valued for the distinctive individual that they are. The most exciting thing about this site is that you get to see a glimpse of the exciting things that go on in our school. Please see News for past events and Calendar for planned events. We have what we like to call a 'Chilmark Way' of doing things. That means that we always put the children first and have very high standards and expectations but also believe that learning can be fun! I hope that the website provides you with an accurate and helpful impression of the learning in our school as well as being a point of reference for our policies and inspection reports (see Documents). We also publish our Newsletters onto the site.
If you are already connected with our school you will already know how welcome you are to make suggestions, get involved and play a part in our dynamic learning community. If you are new to us I hope you feel welcome to become part of the learning journey as we work together to encourage every child to do their best.
